- Child and parent/guardian (applicant) contact information
- Preschool preferences (we recommend choosing 3 services)

Preschool places are allocated in accordance with the Department of Education (DE) priority of access the selection the selection criteria set out in Council’s Priority of Access and Offer Policy Guidelines. These guidelines are used to ensure all allocations to 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten through the Preschool Registration Scheme are fair and equitable.
Please note: Nillumbik Shire Council’s Priority of Access and Offer Guidelines have undergone a review. The allocation of places for children attending in 2026 will be undertaken in line the Department of Education priority of access, and the selection criteria set out in the new Guidelines. Ensure you have read the updated guidelines prior to completing your registrations.
The selection criteria set out in the new Preschool Priority of Access policy includes a weighting score which accumulates according to the number of connections a child has to their first preference preschool. This acknowledges and supports children and their families who may have multiple priority connections to a particular preschool.
With the introduction of funded kindergarten, we anticipate an increase in registrations for our preschool services which may result in more applications than available places. Families who do not receive a preschool offer will have the option to remain on a waitlist and the Preschool Registrations Team will contact you if a place becomes available. We understand this can be an anxious time for families and appreciate your patience as we work with you towards securing a placement for 2026.
