Latrobe City Councils Central Kindergarten Registration Scheme is an initiative to ensure the whole community has access to a fair, equitable and timely system for processing kindergarten registrations.
Please complete this online form to register your child for Kindergarten within Latrobe City. Before you start, here is some more information you may find useful.
To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be four (4) years of age before 30 April for the 4 year old program or three (3) years of age before 30 April for the 3 year old program, in the year of attendance.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION, PLEASE READ BELOW
Is your child ready for kinder? Children born between January to April 2020 (4 year old) or 2021 (3 year old) have the option to start kinder in either 2024 or 2025.
If you would like to discuss your child’s readiness for kinder please contact Family Services on 1300 367 700.
Children are eligible for one year of funded three year old kindergarten and will commence four year old kinder the following year. Children who withdraw from a kindergarten program once they commence are not eligible for a second year of funded kindergarten anywhere in Victoria. Therefore, it is important that families consider whether their child is ready for three year old funded kindergarten, prior to their child commencing in the program.

Priority of access
We support the Department of Education and Training (DET) policy direction that prioritises the inclusion of children with additional needs, children of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background, asylum seeker and refugee families with an appropriate visa, children known to Child Protection and a child or parent that holds a Commonwealth Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Veteran’s Affairs Card or multiple birth children (triplets, quadruplets). Families that demonstrate that they have a child in one of these categories will be allocated to a kindergarten program as a high priority.
