  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION

    Age Requirements
Children enrolling for a 3-year-old program must have turned 3 by April 30th but cannot attend the service until their third birthday.
Further information is available in the following document: https://www.education.vic.gov.au/Documents/childhood/three-year-old-kinder/starting-three-year-old-kinder.pdf

Children enrolling for a 4-year-old program must turn 4 by April 30th but can commence from the start of the year.

    No Jab No Play (Immunisation)
Please note that when you receive a kindergarten offer, an Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register (the only documentation accepted) will need to be provided directly to the kindergarten to finalise your child’s enrolment in their service.

  • Kindergarten registration and enrolment is a 4-STEP process.

Step 1: Families register their preferred kindergarten services (this is not an enrolment)

Step 2: Council allocates kindergarten places (not groups/sessions).

Step 3: Council emails offers, or where a service has more registrations than places, waitlist notifications are issued.

Step 4: Families accept the offer and finalise the enrolment details, nominating preferred group/sessions, directly with the kindergarten. This is now an enrolment.

Note: A registration does not guarantee a kindergarten place. While every effort is made to allocate all registrations, when there are more registrations than places available, State Government Priority of Access and Bayside Allocation Criteria are applied. If your child does not receive an offer, you will be notified that your child is on the waitlist and council will advise your options.

Further information about Priority of Access and Allocation is available at https://www.bayside.vic.gov.au/services/children-and-family/kindergarten-allocation-and-offer-process

  • Section 3: Participating Kindergartens

Location and session information to help you complete Section 4. Note that all 2025 programs and timetables published here are subject to change.
  • STEP 1 - View Program Information

Use this map to help you find a service that meets your needs.

Search for services by entering the Year, Program Type (3 or 4-year-old), and preferred days of the week. Kindergartens will be identified on the map by a green pin and the session information for those services will be displayed below the map.

You can also view your home’s proximity to services, by entering your home address which will appear on the map as a blue home icon. Use the + sign to zoom in further to your home location to easily navigate between service locations.

  • STEP 2 - Proximity Priority Eligibility Check

You can check to see which kindergartens near you will meet the 2km radius priority allocation criteria by following the below:

    1

Enter your address on the map found here.

Your address will show up on the map with a red google map marker.

    2

Click on the 'Radius' dropdown menu at the top of the page and select 2km.

The map and list on the right side of the page will now display the kindergartens within a 2km radius of your address.

If you wish to also see the kindergartens that fall outside of the 2km radius, feel free to use the same 'Radius' dropdown menu select a larger radius.

  • Section 4: Kindergarten Service Preferences

  • Using the information from Section 3, select up to three kindergarten service preferences. You will be asked to select your preferred groups/sessions directly with the service once you have received an offer.

As community kindergartens are experiencing over-subscription, please consider at least two valid options for your child.

  • Note: Bayside’s Priority Allocation criteria apply to the above preference only.

  • Section 5: Bayside Priority Allocation Criteria

  • Further information about the Bayside Priority Allocation Criteria can be found at https://www.bayside.vic.gov.au/services/children-and-family/kindergarten-allocation-and-offer-process
