Second Year of Funded Kindergarten

The Department of Education permits an additional year of funded kindergarten only once and is only available for children who meet the specified criteria. This means your child may be eligible for a second year of three OR four-year-old kindergarten, but not both.

Children with evidenced developmental delays in two or more key areas of development and who would benefit from another year of kindergarten, may be able to access an additional year of funded kindergarten. This requires assessment and sign-off by their Early Childhood Teacher.

The personal information (information) requested on this form is being collected by Moonee Valley City Council (Council) for the purpose of Kindergarten applications. This information will be stored in Council’s customer database and will be handled in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), Council’s Information Privacy & Security Policy, and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic), and will be accessed by authorised employees of the enrolment process. This information will be used to communicate with the applicant for the enrolment in and delivery of kindergarten services. Council will not disclose the information without your consent, except where required to do so by law. If you do not provide the requested information, the application/request may not be able to be processed.

Choosing Kindergartens

We strongly recommend selecting multiple kindergartens when submitting your registration. Due to high demand, we cannot guarantee a place at your first preference.
