  • Kindergarten Preferences

Funded kindergarten registrations are prioritised based on the Victorian State Government's Kindergarten Guidelines, and Stonnington's local allocation criteria
  • IMPORTANT

    • Three and four-year-old kindergarten places are allocated separately. We will make every effort to place your child at the same service for four-year-old kindergarten. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee this.
    • All programs and timetables are set by each individual service and are subject to change.
    • Offers through the Central Registration Scheme are based on the vacancies provided to our team by each service; these may include offers for multi-age and/or rotational groups.
    • We recommend visiting your preferred service before registering.
    • Visit stonnington.vic.gov.au/kinder for further information

  • TYPES OF PROGRAM

Each kindergarten offers different kinds of programs (hours, activities and learning styles).

There are two sorts of kindergarten programs that Early Years services provide.

Sessional programs: these have a set timetable and run 2 to 5 days per week within the school term only, charging fees per term (where applicable).
Integrated programs: kindergarten is offered as part of a long day care enrolment. These operate at least 8 hours per day for 48 weeks per year, charging fees daily.

When completing your registration, please check whether the Service is offering SESSIONAL or INTEGRATED programs to ensure you are applying for your preferred program model.

For further information on how Free Kinder applies to these programs please visit www.stonnington.vic.gov.au/kinder
